SELF INITIATED PROJECT
Senses Institute
Identity for a mindfulness holistic branding world
specialising in a series of workshops in retreats in nature.
Senses Institute's objective is to empower people to improve and strengthen their well-being and physical health through relaxing activities and creativity in nature, and also, to actively contribute to helping vulnerable communities with poor mental health.
The brand offers the user the possibility to disconnect from their daily routines and participate in arts & crafts, yoga and forest bathing workshops in different woods in London and nearby. All the activities benefiting from or using the woodland setting: for example the art & crafts workshops would involve painting, collaging activities, photography, handmade objects made of leftover wood, leaves, flowers, stones.

I was particularly inspired by the bold yet calming design approach of The Mental Health Coalition Project by Pentagram, US. This project guided my desire to create an identity that communicates both purpose and warmth. The Senses logo’s solid rectangular shape evokes trust and stability, key elements for a brand focused on well-being, while the vibrant colour palette captures a full spectrum of emotions tied to nature, from calmness to creativity.
In addition to Pentagram, I drew inspiration from several artists and designers whose work resonates with the project's values. Anthony Burrill’s effective use of simplicity and clean layouts communicated powerful messages that influenced my approach to the brand's communication. Malika Favre’s bold use of colour contrasts and light in some of her artworks inspired me to explore bright, electric tones paired with subtle animations, aiming to evoke a sense of life and movement. Her distinctive style heavily influenced my approach to the digital elements of the project. Additionally, I admired Lynda Goldberg’s use of natural textures and materials in her monotypes, which aligned with my vision of incorporating organic elements into the design, helping to strengthen the connection with nature and healing.
By combining these influences, I was able to develop a unique brand identity for Senses Institute that balances strength and softness, inviting users to experience a sense of rejuvenation, reflection, and well-being.
The ads objective is to both engage and to remind the target audience, who experience often mental health conditions due to stressful, busy lifestyles, to relax and allow themselves to embrace nature.
